導演     Michael Foster

麥可過去四年來以香港、深圳為基地。他於英國格拉摩根大學獲得表演藝術學位及新堡學院戲劇文憑,早期他專注於表演,與「UgLY劇團」在羅卡的el Publico巡迴及《魯克蕾奇雅‧寶佳》在倫敦的首演。他也在卡爾地夫教堂藝術中心製作實驗劇,並與新堡「北方舞台」劇團一起演出。現在他是香港演藝學院導演系碩士班學生二年級。

Profile:

Michael has been based in Hong Kong and Shenzhen mostly for the last four years. He has a BA Hons degree in Performing arts from University of Glamorgan (UK) and an HND in Drama from Newcastle College (UK). Earlier in his education he focused on acting and toured with UgLY Theatre company in Lorca’s El Publico and a London premiere of Lucretia Borgia. He has also practised in experimental theatre productions performing in Cardiff’s Chapter Arts Centre and performed with Newcastle’s Northern Stage ensemble. He is now entering his second year of the MFA Drama program majoring in Directing at Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

Profile:

Tabitha Loh is a Level 2 student in the Theatre+Performance Programme in LASALLE Theatre School. She is interested in developing as a theatre director and has been involved in productions such as Peter Handke’s Kaspar as an Assistant Director to Natalie Hennedige, and in dramaturgical work in the cross-faculty collaboration with dance and interactive media, Interweave.

黑澤明的《影武者》啟發了李瑪莉對劇場產生興趣。她高中就讀以傳統藝術訓練著稱的新加坡南洋初級學院,主修美術學程,現為拉薩爾藝術學院戲劇系劇場暨表演科的二年級學生。瑪莉立志成為劇作家,持續參與許多表演製作,其中包括知名導演Darren Yap所導演的音樂劇《摩登蜜莉》、由新加坡劇場人Tracy Pang導、曾獲美國普立茲劇本獎肯定的《海蒂的傳記》(Heidi Chronicles)。

Profile:

Marie Lee’s interest in theatre was first sparked when she watched Kagemusha by Akira Kurosawa. She is a graduate from the Art Elective Programme (AEP) in Nanyang Junior College, which vigorously trained students in traditional art forms, and is currently a Level 2 student in the Theatre+Performance Programme in LASALLE Theatre School. Aspiring to be a dramaturge/playwright, Marie has been involved in productions such as the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie, directed by Darren Yap, and the American Pulitzer Prize winning play Heidi Chronicles directed by Tracie Pang.

劇情簡介/Sypnosis:

 

十頭羅婆那》是很簡單並且直接的故事,較之印度普遍的版本中,包含了更多佛教的特徵,例如業力輪迴的假設。與其他在泰國、寮國及蘭娜等北方地區流傳版本的不同之處在於,《十頭羅婆那的故事是從《羅摩衍那》裡最重要的、有著十個頭的反派羅婆那的誕生開始說起,並且強調他成為統治三個世界萬能之王的動機為何。

 

The Lanka Sip Ho is simple and straightforward, including many more features from Buddhism than common in India, assuming the great karmic cycles of rebirth. Unlike other Northern Ramayana versions known in Thailand, Laos, and Lanna, Lanka Sip Ho starts with the birth of the Ten-Headed Ravana, the chief antagonist of the Ramayana, and stressed his motivation to become the all-mighty king who rules over the Three Worlds.

劇情簡介/Sypnosis:

 

Bow提早向Dalnae求婚,因為他擔心政府徵兵,自己可能會被帶走。Dalnae告訴父親,她夢見母親,母親對她說不可打開那扇門。父親也說了同一件事。某天,一位士兵跑來Dalnae家,說她將嫁給該區行政官。Dalnae的父親幫助她打包行李,送她Dalnae母親留下來的髮簪後,便離開了。那個晚上,她聽到母親在外面的聲音,便開門讓母親進來。她母親是痲瘋病人,而Dalnae的父親、BowDalnae隨後也感染上痲瘋病。他們一起出走,並與其他獸群一起在大自然生活著。

 

The Bow’ asked to ‘Dalnae’ to marry him early because he might got taken away by government to be a soldier. ‘Dalnae’ told her father that her mother appeared in her dreams and told her not to open the door. Her father told her the same thing. One day, a soldier came over to ‘Dalnae’’s home and told her to got married to the district magistrate. Her father helps ‘Dalnae’ pack her stuff up and leave. He gave her her mother’s binyeo. That night, she heard her mother outside and opened the door for her and took her inside. Her mother was a leper and Dalnae’s father,  ‘Bow’ and ‘Dalnae’ became leper also. They went out to live in the nature with other beasts.

《螢火蟲》把好幾段陷入情感癱瘓期的愛情故事交織在一起︰無法處理被對方背叛的情侶、身處喪子之痛的中年夫妻、追尋自我的學生、渴望擁有摯友人生模式的上班族,以及遭人欺騙的商人。事實上,被找尋的螢火蟲,並不存在。然而,這些人物的情感,就像螢火蟲一樣,在片刻發光後終究要熄滅。鈴江俊郎在《螢火蟲》裡,映現了我們所面臨的難題—無法對深愛的人表達自己最深切的情感。

  

Fireflies weaves together several stories about couples who are trapped in an emotional paralysis. Two lovers unable to deal with the betrayal of one party, a middle-aged couple dealing with the death of a child, a student in search of herself, an office boy who longs to have his best friend’s life, and a deluded businessman who just wants some fun and adventure. Actual fireflies, though sought after by one of the couples, no longer exist. But like fireflies, the characters' emotions burst into light and extinguish, seemingly at random. Written by award-winning Japanese playwright, Suzue Toshiro, the play holds a mirror to the difficulties we face in expressing our deepest feelings to the people we love or at least, like very much.

劇情簡介/Sypnosis:

 

《轉生》這戲為心靈寫實主義,我在其中嘗試以肢體動作去捕抓這齣戲的靈魂與律動,並證實演員能夠不憑藉道具或其他精心設計的元素,只依憑身體,就創造出這些東西。故事描述Sompob這個人物,以不同的生命形體經歷了數以百計的死亡與輪迴轉生。某天,他開始懷疑輪迴轉生的過程,並且拒絕再度轉世。究竟Sompob要如何抵抗這個機制?他又為什麼再度轉世?生命到底是什麼?你相不相信輪迴轉生?

 

I characterize my play “Reincarnate” as Spiritual Realism, where I use physical movements to capture the spirit and dynamics of the play and proves that actors can create a lot just with their body, leaving aside props and other fancy design elements.

 

The story is about a character Sompob who experiences “death” and “reincarnation” hundreds times in various living forms.  One day he starts to doubt “the process” and refuse to reborn again.  How can he fight with the system?  Why does he rebirth again?  What is life about?  Do you believe or not believe in “reincarnation”?

劇情簡介/Sypnosis:

 

實驗戲劇《愛與恨》由兩部分組成:分別取材於古希臘悲劇《奧瑞斯提亞》和莎士比亞的《羅密歐與茱麗葉》。兩個部分都被強烈的愛與恨的情感交織著。

 《奧瑞斯提亞》中的母親克萊婷伊斯特拉,在被送上絞刑架前,不得已地將自己的形象與母愛植入一張漂亮的面具中。

 《羅密歐與茱麗葉》是愛恨交織到極限的經典故事。在這個故事裡,究竟是誰的操縱將愛情化成淒美,還是我們的內心都被一雙無形的殘酷之手操縱著?

 

The experimental “Love and Hated” is made up of two parts, which obtained materials from ancient Greek tragedian Aeschylus “Oresteia” and Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.”  Two parts are both composed by strong emotions of love and hate.

 In “Oresteia,” before the mother Clytemnestra was hanged, she played games with him in order to give him an illusion that a woman with a smiling mask was always his mother. In the end, her son carried and hold the mask in his hands for accepting the Mask Mother, while the real mother was hanging to death.

 “Romeo & Juliet” is a classic piece about the extremely entanglement of love and hate. In this story, whose control turns the love into this tragic romance? Or it’s our minds being controlled by the cruel and cool invisible hands?
